    CHAPTER I

    The Plan

A horizontal well into the Wilrich tight gas play. Three thousand metres straight down. Then a sharp turn east-southeast. Then two-and-a-half kilometres sideways, in zone, at speed.

Lambert 10-14 was the second well on the Lambert pad — drilled from a surface location at 14-22-50-21 W5M and steered toward a bottom-hole target inside the Wilrich IV formation.

The design called for a vertical section to 3,058 metres measured depth — the kick-off point — then a 490-metre build to the heel at 3,548 m, then a single-bit lateral all the way to total depth.

The numbers Pacesetter committed to: a true vertical depth of 3,331 m, a lateral of 2,613 m, a planned azimuth of 127°. Five bottom-hole assemblies. One bit per assembly. No re-runs.

FIG. 1 The rock column, surface to lateral Twenty-two named formations. The bit passes through every one, in order, on the way down.
    CHAPTER II

    The Execution

Eleven drilling days. Five bottom-hole assemblies. One run each. Here is how each section came down.

FIG. 2 Days versus depth, against the Lambert pad Pacesetter's curve in red. Seven offset wells, each in their own colour. Lower-and-left is faster.
      DAY 0.0
      CHAPTER III

      The Result

Total depth reached on schedule. The lateral landed in zone. The pad's other three wells got a faster blueprint to follow.

“Five sections. Five bits. Five runs. No trips.”
      — the headline number from this well

Pacesetter delivered Lambert 10-14 in 11.0 drilling days. The six other Lambert-pad wells in the offset set averaged 12.3 days to a similar depth, with one Ansell well alongside for context. The chart on the right tells the story — lower-and-left wins.

The lateral ran 2,613 m in zone, ending at a final survey of inclination 91.2° and azimuth 126.1° — both well inside the targeted Wilrich IV envelope. Last survey at 5,844 m MD, TD called nine metres later.

For the operator, the practical translation: the next well on this pad starts with a known recipe, a known timeline, and a known cost.

      CHAPTER IV

      The Ticket

A single field services ticket. Four buckets. No surprises.

      CAD $343,260.75
      All-in, including 5% GST. Ticket 26-D0296 · 19 Feb — 24 Mar 2026.

The directional drilling bucket — day rate plus pro-rated time plus two RSS redresses — accounted for the dominant share, exactly as planned. The remaining buckets covered motor rental, remote monitoring, and ancillary services. No change orders. No after-the-fact adjustments.
